On September 26, 2024, Chunlan Liang, student assistant at Magdeburg Business School, supported the preparation and implementation of the Intercultural Language Rally together with three iMBA students - Ziyue Jin, Shiwen Le and Tianhao Fucha.
The event took place within the frame of the nationwide Intercultural Weeks 2024 according to the motto “New Spaces”. The rally was organized by International Office of OVGU, the Student Services Center Magdeburg, and the Intercultural Students (IKUS), which aimed to promote cultural exchange among German students, international students, and local residents. The iMBA team set up a Chinese culture booth, showcasing Chinese language and traditions, which became a highlight of the event.
The Chinese volunteers organized activities like Oracle Bone Script games, paper-cutting, and Chinese calligraphy, drawing many participants. Traditional Chinese snacks were also offered, giving attendees a taste of Chinese food culture alongside the language experience.
Volunteers from the business school of OVGU acted as cultural ambassadors, not only showing their cross-cultural communication skills and teamwork spirit, but also reinforcing the importance of cultural exchange on campus, as well as showcasing the diversity of Chinese culture. As the event’s theme stated – "Discovering Culture through Language" – the business school volunteers contributed significantly to achieving this goal. We are excited to see them continue to shine in future events, promoting even greater intercultural engagement and exchange.
